In partnership with CLOCK Your Skills, a ground breaking alternative higher education program, we are proud to offer a three-day intensive bootcamp where Victorian music business professionals can validate their work skills and experience with formal qualification credits.

At the VMDO, we identify there are highly skilled people working in the Victorian contemporary music community who may not recognise the significance of their experience acquired throughout their professional working lives.

The program is an international development and accreditation initiative that aims to help Victorian music business professionals identify their strengths and gain confidence in their transferable skills.

This year, participants will have the exclusive opportunity to learn from experienced arts business experts: Denise Stanley, Founder of CLOCK and an international expert in delivering practice based learning for creative industries; and Paulette Long OBE, a Music Publisher, Artist Manager and Board Director with over 35 years of industry experience.

In 2019, Chelsea Gough, Director of Native Tongue Music Publishing, and Siobhan Kranz, Marketing and Communications Senior Manager at Mushroom Group, completed the program, as part of a delegation to Music Cities Convention in Chengdu, China.

Siobhan says the program was an extremely beneficial endeavour for her career in the industry.

“The nature of the program meant that I was able to assess my skills retrospectively and reflect on what expertise I had built in my career thus far. It was amazing to be able to take this time to look back at my work which is difficult in such a fast-paced industry. The portfolio is comprehensive and really highlights how your creative work could be applied at a tertiary level,” she says.

The program is technology-based with professional sector experts who benchmark participants’ skills and expertise for professional mobility across national boundaries (Europe, UK, USA).

The current outcome is certification from the Scottish Qualifications Authority at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 11 or European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7, which are equivalent to master’s level.

The program is open to professional creatives, including freelancers, employees and small business owners, who want to validate their skills at a master’s level. See below for more information on the application process and requirements.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 5.00pm AEDT on Thursday, 6 February 2020
