High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming

Four panels feature illustrations of people engaging with technology and musical instruments

High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming returns in 2020! Music and sound creators and games developers from around the world are invited to join the one-day virtual conference on Saturday 3 October for free, all from the comfort of your kitchen table, couch or home office.

As part of Melbourne International Games Week, APRA AMCOS, in partnership with Creative Victoria and the Victorian Music Development Office, are presenting High Score in a different format in 2020, but staying true to the event's focus on creativity, craft and the value of music in games.

The event will include keynotes from Seattle-based composer and producer Lena Raine (Minecraft Nether Update) and Melbourne's own Dan Golding of Untitled Goose Game, speaking on their craft and what music brings to games. Panels discussing music-led games, technical problem solving and the role of music in indie games will round out the day.
