VMDO announces beneficiaries of SXSW Austin 2024 Export Assistance program

VMDO are pleased to reveal the beneficiaries of the recently-announced SXSW 2024 Austin Export Assistance program.

The program offered to assist in one of two ways. Applicants had the choice of receiving a $1000 cash contribution towards their journey, or undertakinga pre-festival campaign with US agency Marauder, who were hired by VMDO to assist VIC bands and/or managers with awareness and industry outreach in the lead-up to SXSW.

The beneficiaries (and their managers) are:

  • Anna Smyrk (self-managed)

  • The Belair Lip Bombs (Dan Radburn)

  • Bones & Jones (Will Stoeckel)

  • Elle Shimada (Aakanksha Sidhu)

  • Folk Bitch Trio (Alastair Burns)

  • Forest Claudette (Zach Hamilton Reeves)

  • Girl And Girl (Simone Ubaldi & Andrew Parisi)

  • Ivoris (self-managed)

  • Keenan Te (Cam Noble)

  • Miss Kaninna (Ali Tomoana)

  • Sui Zhen (self-managed)

  • Sycco (Summer King)

To be eligible, either the act or the manager had to be a resident of Victoria. Good luck to all in Texas!
